I am a pastor's wife, homeschooling mom of 7, and a church pianist. I started my musical instruction on the piano at age 7, with a focus on classical training. I also took flute and vocal lessons. When I was thrown into the role of "church pianist" at age 16, I realized that it was a completely different style than that of classical.
Teaching children hymn playing and accompaniment is a dying art, and my goal is to raise up a new generation of church pianists! I focus on note reading, timing, articulation, improvising, and accompanying a song leader or musician.
